My top 5 favourite places for a photoshoot in London!

So being a photographer in London area means I have taken photos in a fair few areas! I can walk around London quite comfortably and one of the things I love about the city is that its so full of opportunity when it comes to photography. As I was thinking today about what thought ramble I wanted to put out to the world this came up.

So here are my top 5 favourite places!

Number one.

Canary Wharf! Now the best time to shoot in Canary Wharf is on the weekend. Its pretty dead bar inside the shopping centre but even inside there its quiet (not that you want to shoot inside a shopping centre) You have so much to work with, from architecture to the river. Reflections are in abundance and the light can be incredible especially around sunset/sunrise. I think people over look it and I certainly had until a client suggested it for their engagement shoot.

Number two.

St Dunstans in the East Church garden. Ah now this place I adore. Introduced to me by a client and tucked away off of Great Tower Street near the Tower of London this place is a little haven. A beautiful old church ruin garden where nature has taken back its place in the middle of a very busy part of the city. Its very rare this place is busy. Its actually magical tbh thats the only way to properly describe it!

Number three.

Another old favourite of mine is Greenwich. This place is a wealth of photo opportunity. With the Old Royal Naval college, the park, The Royal Observatory, the market and along the river it just never gets dull! And if you time your shoot for sunset or sunrise then its even more awesome. It can get busy so I find a late summer evening in the week the best opportunity or late Sunday.

Number four.

The Regents Canal! This is a great place. You can have a lovely walk with your clients and there are some truly quirky features I love it. You can start over in Little Venice which is super close to Paddington and make your way up to Primrose Hill for the awesome views or come from Kings Cross which is a bit longer but you get to go through Camden. Its also good come rain or shine :)

Number Five.

The St Pauls to Southbank river walk! This is a classic. You can start at St Pauls and then go over the Millennium bridge and wonder past the Tate, the Oxo Tower and then Southbank for sunset or do it the other way and finish at St Pauls for sunset. There is a wealth of opportunity both summer and winter and I always find something new every time I shoot in the area!
