Your wedding day is the best and most special day of your life. It's the day you commit yourself, forever, to your best friend. Your memories of the day are so important and I love the privilege of being the person who creates the images that enable couples to relive the beauty and emotion of the day over and over again.

I am an unobtrusive photographer. Reportage, documentary and storyteller would be perfect words to describe my wedding photography. That doesn't mean I don't do those classic group shots or that I can't ease you into fabulous couple shots. I do, but I do them in my own special style. Of course, every wedding, like every couple, is unique so nothing is set in stone in advance. Let me give you a rough idea of how a day's shoot might go.

I arrive bright and early to get the detail shots – the wedding dress you instantly fell in love with, the necklace your mum gave you, your dad seeing you in your dress for the first time, your first glimpse of yourself in the mirror when you realise just what this day means! I cover the excitement (and the chaos) of getting ready for your big day.

I move on to the wedding venue a little ahead of the bride so I can shoot the groom, the best man, the ushers, arriving guests, the flowers. I am there to cover the arrival of the bridal entourage followed by my unobtrusive capturing of every moment of your ceremony – exchanging vows and rings, your first kiss and, of course, that wonderful walk down the aisle as husband and wife.

It's time for your grand exit, confetti shots (who doesn't like those?!), and group shots. Using a list of group shots we will have pre-agreed, these can be done smoothly and quickly (around 30-40 minutes) and I keep it relaxed and fun.

I drop back into the background during drinks and congratulations, capturing the hugs, the cheers and possibly the tears! I am always on the lookout for those touching little moments that you will have missed. I also use this time to capture the details you spent so many months perfecting – the table decorations, the flowers, the favours.

About half an hour before your entrance into your wedding breakfast, the three of us will quietly slip away to take the couple shots. I don't do cheesy poses! I will take you to certain spots I've identified in advance but, once there, I encourage you to engage with each other and to enjoy this brief time away from the rest of the wedding party, allowing me to get really natural shots which reflect the real couple.

At the wedding breakfast, I get a good selection of atmospheric room shots, then have a little snack break in readiness for the speeches and the evening events. I shoot throughout the speeches - all the jokes, the thank yous and the apologies. Everything is there to help you remember this day.

With summer weddings, I keep an eye out for beautiful sunsets so, if appropriate, I might come and grab you for just 5 minutes before your evening guests arrive.

I shoot the rest of the evening (until about an hour after your first dance) documentary-style - the cutting of the cake, your first dance, the disco lights and Uncle Bob throwing some ill-advised shapes on the dance floor!

As I said at the beginning, this is only a rough idea of how I will capture your wedding day. We will have plenty of communication before the day to agree a schedule, the list of group shots and to make sure every little detail is covered.

FAQs

WHAT IS YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

My wedding photography is mostly natural and creative in style. Although I believe the formal family shots are important, when it comes to couples, I like to make it fun, directing my subjects rather than posing them. You can read more about how I work here

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I am based in Sevenoaks, Kent just outside of the M25, my base package price includes travel across London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex & Essex. I am however more than happy to travel anywhere nationally and internationally!

HOW LONG DO YOU STAY ON MY WEDDING DAY?

My base package price is for all-day coverage, from your early morning bridal preparation until an hour or so after your first dance. I don't watch the clock and I'll only leave once the party is in full swing. (Please note that Turkish weddings require longer shooting time so they incur a higher charge.)

IS THERE A LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PHOTOGRAPHS, AND WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT?

There is no limit to the number of images – every quality image is edited and given to you. I don't simply look at my images from a technical level – there is very much an emotional side to my editing and I don't keep anything back. For an English wedding, the average is around 450-600 images. Copyright for every image remains with me (standard for wedding photography) but you have the rights to unlimited printing and sharing of every shot.

DO YOU SHOOT WEDDINGS ABROAD?

Absolutely! Destination weddings can be amazing. Contact me to discuss rates for wedding photography outside mainland UK.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes. I have full public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

WHAT CAMERA(S) DO YOU USE?

I use two cameras – a Nikon D750 and a Nikon D3. I also have a good selection of telephoto and prime lenses (all under 2.8) and flash guns. I have invested a lot in my equipment, ensuring I can deal easily with any challenge I encounter at a wedding.

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?

First, get in touch via the contact page and give me as much detail as you can about you, the couple, and about your day. After that, we will meet up, either in person or on Skype. When you're 100% happy that I'm the photographer for you, I will send an invoice and a contract. Upon receipt of the signed contract and the booking fee, your date is confirmed.

HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR OUR PHOTOS?

Three weeks after your wedding, you will receive access to your shots in a private online viewing gallery, and the USB with the high resolution files will follow by post soon after. Because I shoot only around 25 weddings every year, I do not get backed up with editing, meaning I can produce your images in this short timescale.
